Ways to Volunteer at Park Elementary

Our school depends on strong parent involvement.  The following is a list of different volunteer teams at Park Elementary:

Room Representative - These individuals help with classroom parties, field trips, etc.    

  • Fundraising - This group coordinates all fundraisers as bound by 9R policy.    The following are Park's fundraisers:  Book Fair, Read-a Thon, Fall Fundraiser, Pumpkin Patch, and Cinco de Mayo Carnival.
  • Hospitality - The Food Crew will organize meals for teachers and staff for the Back to School luncheon (held the day before school starts), all Parent/Teacher conference nights and Teacher Appreciation Week. 
  • Learning Preserve - This group plans the future and present operations of the Park Learning Preserve including design changes and weed maintenance. 
  • Spirit - The purpose of this committee is to elevate and ignite the Park spirit and pride among all students and parents. Duties will include decorating the two lobbies for the five holiday seasons, organizing and ordering for Teacher Appreciation Week and taking care of balloons and helium for all events. 
  • Social Committee - This committee will host Snack and Chat.
  • Student Directory - This committee will be responsible for organizing the student and staff directory for every classroom.
  • School Wide Special Events - The purpose of this committee will be to oversee any and all special events held at school.  These special events include:  National Turn TV off Week, Field Day, Multi Culture Day, Pumpkin Decorating Contest and Books in Motion.
  • Yearbook - This committee will be in charge doing the yearbook every school year.
  • Benevolence - This "Care and Kindness" group sends or hands out birthday cards, sympathy cards and thank you cards to teachers and staff.

Mission Statement

The Park Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an organization of concerned parents and teachers whose mission is to create a sense of community and empower our children to have a sense of pride and ownership in their school, always keeping student's interest first.  A primary goal of the PTO is to provide meaningful benefits to Park students.
