Highlights of our Learning Adventures

In Science...we are comparing and contrasting how Pumpkins and Watermelons are the same and different.  We planted rapid-life-cycle Brassica seeds so we can observe the full life cycle of a bean plant and harvest the seeds for next year's students.

In Phonics...we are practicing how to blend sounds to make words.  We even blend nonsense words for practice.  We play around with words.  We change beginning sounds, leave off ending sounds, sing silly rhyme songs and read a lot of learning poems.

In Math....we are studying measuring, telling time and money.  We are currently learning to exchange pennies for nickels and dimes.

In Social Studies...we have been studying the rainforest.

We are learning sight words...how to read them INSTANTLY and, for a challenge, how to SPELL them!!!

We have fun learning every day!
