Nevada ABC Book Project

Nevada ABC Book Project

Due: JULY 30, 2010

Part 1- Brainstorming Activity

Using the Nevada Alphabet packet, you will list as many items as you can that have to do with Nevada for each letter of the alphabet.  You may use your social studies textbook, your notes, or any other source to help you gather your information.  Be sure you are able to explain what each item you list has to do with Nevada!

When this part has been completed, you will then choose ONE topic from each box to represent that letter of the alphabet for your book.  Highlight your choice & that will be the topic you will research and write about.

Part 2- Research and Rough Draft

Using the rough draft packet you will list each topic you chose from the brainstorming activity on the corresponding letter.  This is where you will write your rough draft paragraph about each topic from A-Z, after completing research and taking notes. (See the example below)

S:  Sagebrush

Sagebrush is Nevada’s state flower.  It is a hardy plant and is able to survive all of Nevada’s climate conditions, from hot dry deserts to snowy mountains.
